NIMF-15 STANDARD

NIMF-15 Standard: An essential requirement for exporting wooden crates and pallets

The NIMF-15 (ISPM-15) standard is an international regulation established by the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC). It aims to prevent the spread of pests and harmful organisms via wood used in transport packaging, such as crates, pallets and other wooden packaging materials.

Why is the NIMF-15 standard important?

When goods cross international borders, untreated wooden packaging can carry insects or diseases that threaten local ecosystems. The NIMF-15 standard ensures that this packaging is treated to eliminate these risks, thereby guaranteeing:

  • The protection of global forest resources.

  • Regulatory compliance to avoid delays, fines or returns of goods.

  • Secure and hassle-free international transport.

Why choose our NIMF-15 compliant packaging?

  • Guarantee of international conformity: Our wooden crates and pallets meet all the requirements of the NIMF-15 standard, facilitating your shipments worldwide.

  • Reliability and quality: Robust manufacturing and processing in compliance with standards, without compromising the safety of your goods.

  • Peace of mind guaranteed: Ship your products abroad without risk of being blocked or returned at the border.

PCCMEB

Protection and compliance for your wooden packaging

The PCCMEB (Canadian Wood Packaging Materials Certification Program) is a regulatory program designed to ensure that wood packaging materials manufactured and used in Canada meet the requirements of the NIMF-15 (ISPM-15) standard.

This program is overseen by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and plays a vital role in Canadian exports, ensuring that wooden packaging is pest-free and meets international standards.

The objectives of the PCCMEB

  • Preventing the spread of pests: By ensuring that wooden packaging (crates, pallets, wedges, etc.) is treated to eliminate insects and diseases that can be transported across borders.

  • Facilitating trade: By ensuring that wooden packaging meets international requirements, the PCCMEB reduces the risks of rejection, delays or sanctions.

  • Promoting compliance: By certifying manufacturers and companies that produce wooden packaging in accordance with the NIMF-15 standard.

Who is affected by the PCCMEB?

The program is aimed at all companies that manufacture, repair, or recycle wooden packaging intended for export, including:

  • Manufacturers of wooden crates and pallets.

  • Logistics and transport companies.

  • Exporters who use wooden packaging materials for their goods.

Certification and marking

Companies certified by the PCCMEB can affix an official marking to their wooden packaging, attesting to its compliance with the NIMF-15 standard. This marking includes:

  • The IPPC symbol.

  • A code identifying the certified company and its country of origin (Canada).

  • The type of treatment performed, such as heat treatment (HT).

Why choose our PCCMEB certified packaging?

  • Guaranteed compliance: All our products are manufactured in accordance with PCCMEB, ensuring they meet the requirements of international markets.

  • Reliability and quality: Our wooden packaging is designed to offer maximum protection while complying with regulatory standards.

  • Export support: With PCCMEB certified packaging, you avoid delays or complications during border inspections.
